Pay and get paid fast with PayID®
Make and receive payments typically in a few seconds using a PayID.
PayID and Osko® - How does it work?
Now you can get paid in near real-time using just your mobile number as a PayID. Customers with business profiles can also register an ABN PayID.
Your family and friends are likely to have your mobile number in their phone contacts, and your customers have your ABN, so you can avoid being asked for bank account details, making it easier for them to pay you. Payments will typically be received in a few seconds but may take longer, 24/7, even on weekends and public holidays.
Create a PayID now
A PayID is created by linking your mobile number or ABN to an eligible St.George bank account in your name.
From the Mobile Banking App, login in and select Services > Manage my PayID details
From a Desktop, login to Internet Banking and select Transfer, payments & BPAY > Manage my: > PayID
or My details & settings > My Information > PayID
Note: In order to register for a PayID that links to one of your business accounts, you will need to be logged into Internet Banking using your Business profile.
Plus it's now easier to make near real-time payments to friends or family using their registered PayID, even if they bank elsewhere. You can pay all PayID types including mobile number, email address, landline, ABN (which includes ACN, ARBN and ARSN) or Organisation ID. You'll be able to include a longer message with the transaction. Your message will arrive with your payment. They can still use your BSB and account number but using your PayID is simpler.
Best of all, this new feature is available in Internet banking and on the Mobile Banking App.
What does this mean for you?
Faster payments

Fast Osko® payments can be made to a PayID or a BSB and account number.
Simpler for people to pay you
A PayID is an easy way to communicate your account details to other people, by providing your mobile number.
Smarter payment information
Include more information (up to 280 characters) in your payment description.
What do I need to do?
Check that the mobile number we have on record for you is current and create your PayID in Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking App.
What is an Osko, near real-time payment?
Osko by BPAY® allows these fast payments to be made, typically in less than a few seconds, between eligible accounts at participating financial institutions, 24/7 – even on weekends and public holidays.
All payments to a PayID will occur in near real-time. Payments to a BSB and account number will only occur in near real-time if both parties have eligible accounts. You will see the transaction appear as Osko in Online Banking when you make or receive an Osko payment.

Important information
Osko is the overlay service developed by BPAY® that allows fast payments to be made.
Both the sending and receiving bank accounts must be enabled for faster Osko payments. Fast Osko payments will not be available on some STG accounts (including credit accounts), to offshore bank accounts or for transfers in a foreign currency.
Payments may take longer in some instances, such as where there is a technical interruption to the service, there is a payment to a first time payee or when the payment is caught for additional security screening.
