You can also use the dynamic CVV to set up recurring card payments. When you set up a recurring card payment, you provide your card details (including the dynamic CVV) to the merchant. These details are used by the merchant to set up the recurring payment, and ongoing payments will not be impacted.

Yes, you will not be able to view nor use your Digital Card details until you have activated your physical card for the first time. You do not need to activate replacement cards on the same account to continue to access your Digital Card details. This is particularly useful when you report your card lost or stolen as you can view your replacement card details immediately and use these until your replacement physical card arrives.

You can use your Digital Card details to:

• Make online or in-app purchases
• Add your eligible card details to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to use for in-store or in-app purchases
• Set up recurring card payments.

Digital Card is available in the St.George Mobile Banking App for iPhone and iPad (minimum app version 9.43) and Android (minimum app version 9.7). It won’t work if your device has been modified to remove manufacturer restrictions. Digital Card isn’t available for Internet Banking nor the mobile website.

A Digital Card is a digital version of your debit or credit card, which is available in the Mobile Banking App, and can be used to shop online, pay bills, make in-app purchases, and set-up recurring card payments. A Digital Wallet is an app or online service used to make payments electronically such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. You can add your Digital Card to your Digital Wallet to make purchases in-store, in-app and online.

A Digital Wallet is an App that allows you to make debit or credit card transactions in store or online, using an eligible device (such as a mobile phone or smartwatch). You must first add your card to your Digital Wallet before you can use your device to make a transaction. 

Your digital credit or debit card is a complete digital version of your physical card. You can securely view your full card details (card number, expiry date and dynamic CVV*) within the St.George Mobile Banking App without needing to add your digital card to your Digital Wallet. We call this digital view of your card details your “digital card”.  

*Dynamic CVV reduces the risk of fraudulent credit or debit card activity by over 50% as it refreshes your St.George Digital Card’s 3-digit security number every 24 hours – making your card details even more secure.

Yes, provided that you have activated your original physical card and it’s eligible as a Digital Card, you can view your replacement card details and use these to make online purchases or add them to your preferred Digital Wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay) until your new physical card arrives.

It can also be added to your smart phone or watch’s Digital Wallet to shop in-store. Your Digital Card also has a dynamic CVV that changes every 24 hours.

Unfortunately only Visa Cards are currently eligible for a Digital Card. The Freedom Eftpos card is currently not eligible as a Digital Card.

Yes, you can. When you set up a recurring card payment, you provide your card details (including the dynamic CVV) to the merchant. These details are used once only by the merchant to set up the recurring payments, and ongoing payments will not be impacted.

Before logging on to your Mobile Banking App you can tap on the ‘Digital Card’ button on the Mobile Banking app homepage, enter your logon details and then follow the prompts to view your Digital Card details.

Alternatively, after logging into the Mobile Banking app, you can tap on ‘Services’ at the bottom of the account dashboard followed by ‘Digital Card’ under the ‘My Cards’ heading on the Services menu. Then follow the prompts to view your Digital Card details.

Yes, you can continue to use your Digital Card details. They will continue to be available in the Mobile Banking App.

Yes, you can continue to use your Digital Card details to add to your preferred Digital Wallet or to make online purchases until and after you receive your replacement credit or debit card.

No, you do not need to activate your replacement physical card to be able to continue to view and use your Digital Card details. If you want to use your physical card or the CVV printed on the card, you will need to activate the card once you receive it.

You need to activate your physical card within 45 days of approval for your Credit Card account to remain open.

No, you do not have to use your Digital Card. The option to view your Digital Card details will be available for you for eligible cards, but you do not have to use it.

Yes, you can use your Digital Card to earn any reward points that you are entitled to earn by using your card.

No, you will not be able to view the Digital Card details of the card you have reported fraudulent activity on. However, when we issue you with a replacement card, you will be able to view the Digital Card details of that replacement card in the Mobile Banking App before and after you receive your physical replacement card.

Your Digital Card details are only available in your Mobile Banking app. As long as your Mobile Banking app is not compromised, your Digital Card details will be safe.

Yes, accessibility features are built into Mobile Banking. If you use this feature, you will be given instruction to help keep your information secure: “For security reasons when using voiceover or talk back please ensure you plug your headset in, put curtain on or cover your screen as this app will read the personal card details of full card number, embossed name, expiry date and a CVV out loud”.

No, you will not be able to differentiate between a payment made on your physical card or using your Digital Card details as all transactions are linked to the same card number/account.

When you have an existing credit card and switch it to a different one, these details cannot be viewed digitally until the physical card has been activated.

Some possible reasons why you can't see your Digital Card details include:

• Your card is not eligible
• Your credit card has not been approved, or the account has not been opened
• Your transaction account does not have a debit card associated with it
• You are not registered for Internet and Mobile Banking
• You have not set-up Secure Code or do not have a valid mobile phone number on your profile
• Your card has been blocked or closed
• You have not activated your physical card for the first time
• You are an additional cardholder and the primary cardholder hasn’t activated their physical card
• Your device is not compatible.

Your Mobile Banking App must be iOS version 9.43 or higher, or Android version 9.7 or higher.

You can view existing card details at any time provided that you activated your physical card for the first time. You need to use the Mobile Banking App version 9.43 or higher for iPhone or Android version 9.7 or higher to view your Digital Card details.

Yes, you need to use the Mobile Banking App version 9.43 or higher for iOS to view your Digital Card details.

The ‘copy card number to clipboard’ functionality enables you to quickly enter your card number into online merchant checkouts or add it to an eligible mobile wallet. You can copy the card number by long pressing on the card number where you see your card details. Only the card number is copied. You will need to manually enter your Dynamic CVV and expiry date.

Yes, you can use the ‘Copy’ functionality available on the card details screen, by long pressing on the card number, to copy the card number and paste the information where required.

Yes you can, simply enter your card details and dynamic CVV displayed in the app at the checkout for online transactions (e.g. online merchants) or add them to the payment screen for ongoing in-app purchases such as streaming and food delivery services.

As the replacement card can be issued up to one month in advance you may see a different expiry date to the one listed on their physical card. In this case you can use either the expiry date and dynamic CVV displayed in the Mobile Banking App or the expiry date and CVV displayed on the current physical card until this physical card expires.

When you activate your physical card for the first time you will be prompted to set your PIN. The PIN applies to your Digital Card details (when added to a mobile wallet) and your physical card and is required when performing contactless transactions over $100.

Setting the PIN allows you to make transactions over $100 if you add your Digital Card details to an eligible Digital Wallet or use your physical card to make contactless transactions over $100. The PIN is set for your Digital Card details and your physical card.

You can change your PIN using the Change card PIN functionality in Internet or Mobile Banking.

Yes, your PIN is set for your Digital Card details and your physical card.

To ensure your details are secure, the dynamic CVV will periodically change when viewing your card in your Mobile Banking app. The Dynamic CVV is valid for 24 hours after a payment is made.  If a merchant’s details are compromised your card details are safe as the dynamic CVV changes every 24 hours.

Recurring payments and Digital Wallets can be set up using the dynamic CVV without impacting ongoing payments.

If you report your card lost/stolen, we will automatically update your card details in your Digital Wallet and you can continue to make transactions without the need to activate your replacement card.

No, you can’t. If you lock your physical card, any associated Digital Cards will also be locked. Any additional credit cards will also be locked.

No, as long as the lost/stolen or expired card was activated and you accepted the Terms and Conditions while adding your card to Digital Wallets you don’t need to accept the Terms and Conditions again.

You will continue to view any existing and pending transactions associated with your lost/stolen credit card, the credit card will be listed as “reported lost/stolen”. From the next business day, these transactions will be shown against your new card and account in Internet and Mobile Banking.

You can also view your account statements associated to your lost/stolen card in the "Closed accounts" section in Internet and Mobile Banking.

No, at present you need to go directly to the Apple Wallet app on your iOS device, or the Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet app on your Android device and follow the prompts to enter your card details and dynamic CVV to add the card to your preferred Digital Wallet.

Card numbers remain the same for reissued or damaged replacement cards. The card expiry date and CVV may change. We will update the new card information in your Digital Wallet in this instance.
