Why use Expense Splitter?

Group payments

Dinner out, holidays with mates or bills to share. Use Expense Splitter to request and make payments.

Keep track

Stay on top of what you owe and are owed. Request payments by SMS and send reminders.

Add up-to 50 expenses

Split bills with up to 10 groups containing a maximum of 20 people. Set a payment status to keep track.

How it works

1. Name your expense

Logon to the Mobile App and search for Expense Splitter. Then give your expense a name.

2. Create your group expense

Select the transaction you’d like to split with the group. You can add more than one transaction for each group.

3. Split with your friends and family

You can add people from your contact list or enter their name and mobile number. Choose the split amount and send an SMS to request payment.*

You'll need to be registered for Internet Banking before logging onto the St.George App to use this feature.

Expense Splitter FAQs

Can I split an expense unevenly?

Yes. After you’ve created an expense tap ‘equally’ and change to ‘unequally’. You can then edit the amount.

How do I send an SMS to someone who owes me money?

Logon, tap Services, then tap Expense Splitter.
Tap ‘People’ at the top, then tap the person’s name, then tap 'Remind'.
Select the account you’d like to be paid into and tap ‘Create SMS’ (the BSB & Account number for your account will be in the SMS). Make sure these details are correct & unchanged. Payments made to the wrong account may not be able to be recovered.
You can then edit the message if you’d like, and then tap send.

Logon to tap Services, then tap Expense Splitter.
Tap ‘Expenses’ at the top, then tap 'Remind', and then select the person you'd like to send an SMS to from the drop down.
Select the account you'd like to be paid into and tap 'Create SMS' (the BSB & Account number for your account will be in the SMS). Ensure these details are correct & unchanged. Payments made to the wrong account may not be able to be recovered.
You can then edit the message if you'd like, and then tap send.

When I receive a payment will Expense Splitter be automatically updated?

No, Expense Splitter doesn't automatically update when you receive a payment. You'll need to go into Expense Splitter and update the information yourself.

To update this info:

Login, tap Services, then tap Expense Splitter.
Tap People at the top, then tap on the person's name, then tap 'I got paid for'.
Tick the contact that has paid you and tap 'Paid', then 'Done'.

How do I delete an expense?

How long can I view past expenses that have been fully paid back?
